DX Terminology at a Glance

Xchange Point
1% of a load's gross revenue. Points communicate the percentage offered for dispatch services or a dispatch collaboration.
Available Points (Driver Dispatch Fee)
The dispatch percentage a carrier or owner-operator is willing to pay when posting an available truck.
Xchange Rate
The dollar value of the agreed Xchange Points after they are applied to the gross revenue of a specific load.
Co-Dispatching
A collaboration in which two dispatch professionals work together to service a carrier, with the existing dispatch fee divided according to the agreed Xchange Points.

Dispatch Xchange (DX) is a professional networking and dispatch technology platform built for freight dispatchers, owner-operators, and carriers. DX gives members one community to post and discover available trucks, share potential load referrals, connect with trucking professionals, collaborate with other dispatchers, manage dispatched loads and paperwork, communicate, and build valuable industry relationships.

Not exactly—and that's kind of the point. Traditional load boards are primarily designed around brokers and carriers. DX created a space where dispatchers are part of the equation too. The Xchange Board allows members to post available trucks and share potential load referrals, but DX goes beyond the board with co-dispatching, a searchable member Directory, direct messaging, ratings and reviews, load management, and community features. Think less “another load board” and more your daily starting point for dispatch.

DX is built primarily for freight dispatchers, owner-operators, and small carriers looking for better ways to connect, collaborate, organize their operations, and grow their professional networks.

Carriers and owner-operators can post available trucks, connect with dispatch professionals, search the Directory, send direct messages, review member profiles and feedback, manage accepted loads and associated paperwork, participate in the DX community, and use available platform tools to support their operations.

Dispatchers can connect with carriers and owner-operators, share potential load referrals, discover available trucks, build a professional profile, gain traditional dispatch clients, collaborate with other dispatchers, use co-dispatch tools and agreements, manage dispatched loads and associated paperwork, communicate with members, and participate in the DX community.

Create your account, choose the membership that fits your needs, complete your profile, and start exploring the Xchange. A complete profile helps other members quickly understand who you are, what you do, and whether you may be a good fit to work together.

The Xchange Board is where members post truck availability and share potential load referrals. Dispatchers can share potential load opportunities they may be able to access and book on behalf of a carrier as its dispatcher. Carriers and owner-operators can post available trucks along with the dispatch terms they're willing to consider. When members see a potential match, they can connect directly and determine whether they want to work together.

No. DX facilitates the connection but does not act as the broker or booking party. Members communicate directly and are responsible for verifying the opportunity, parties involved, rates, authority, documentation, and other requirements before proceeding.

Yes. Direct Messages allow members to connect when they see an available truck, potential load referral, or member they'd like to learn more about.

No. DX provides technology and networking tools designed to help members discover opportunities and make connections, but DX does not guarantee the availability, quality, or outcome of any opportunity or business relationship.

Co-dispatching allows two dispatch professionals to work together when one has the carrier or truck and the other has access to a potential load opportunity that may fit. Instead of the first dispatcher losing the opportunity to service their carrier—or the carrier sitting while the search continues—the dispatchers can collaborate and share the carrier's existing dispatch fee according to the terms they agree upon. The carrier gets serviced. Both dispatchers are compensated for their role. Everybody keeps moving.

Absolutely. Dispatcher A has an agreement with their carrier for a 7% dispatch fee (7 Points), but hasn't found the right opportunity for the carrier's available truck. Dispatcher B has access to a potential load opportunity that fits the truck and posts it on the Xchange Board for 4 Xchange Points. Dispatcher A accepts the opportunity at 4 Points. The carrier's original dispatch fee does not increase—it remains the 7 Points already agreed upon between the carrier and Dispatcher A. The difference is how those 7 Points are distributed: • Carrier's agreed dispatch fee: 7 Points (7%) • Dispatcher B receives: 4 Points (4%) • Dispatcher A retains: 3 Points (3%) If the load pays $2,000, the carrier's total 7% dispatch fee is $140. Dispatcher B's 4 Points equal $80, and Dispatcher A's remaining 3 Points equal $60. The carrier still pays the same $140 dispatch fee originally agreed to—not 7% plus another 4%. Dispatcher A keeps their carrier serviced and earns 3 Points. Dispatcher B earns 4 Points for bringing the opportunity. The carrier gets moving instead of sitting. That's the Xchange.

Xchange Points represent percentages of a load's gross revenue used to communicate dispatch compensation on DX. 1 Xchange Point = 1% of gross load revenue. So, if a carrier offers a 7% dispatch fee, that's 7 Points on DX. If a dispatcher offers another dispatcher 4% to collaborate on an opportunity, that's 4 Xchange Points. Points make the percentage being offered clear upfront so members can quickly determine whether an opportunity or connection makes sense for them.

The Xchange Rate is the dollar value of the agreed Xchange Points once they're applied to the gross revenue of a specific load. Example: Gross Load Revenue: $2,000 Xchange Points: 4 Points (4%) Xchange Rate: $80 Simply put: Xchange Points are the percentage. Xchange Rate is the dollar amount.

When a carrier or owner-operator posts an available truck, Available Points (Driver Dispatch Fee) tells dispatchers the percentage of gross load revenue that the carrier is willing to pay for dispatch services. For example, 7 Available Points means the carrier is offering a 7% dispatch fee. This lets dispatchers see the offered dispatch percentage upfront and decide whether the truck may be a good fit for their services.

No. Co-dispatching does not automatically add another dispatch fee for the carrier. Using the example above, the carrier agreed to a 7-Point (7%) dispatch fee with Dispatcher A. If Dispatcher A accepts an opportunity from Dispatcher B at 4 Points, those 4 Points come from the existing 7 Points, leaving Dispatcher A with 3 Points. The carrier still pays 7%—not 7% + 4%. The participating members should agree to and document their terms before proceeding.

No. Xchange Points and Xchange Rates represent compensation between participating members. DX does not take a percentage of the load simply because members connect or complete an Xchange through the platform.

Nope! Co-dispatching is just one way to use the Xchange. Members can post trucks, share potential load referrals, gain traditional dispatch clients, search the Directory, network, communicate with other members, manage loads, participate in the Timeline and Xchange Lounges, and use other DX tools without ever entering a co-dispatch arrangement.

The DX Directory is a searchable community of dispatchers, carriers, and owner-operators. Members can use filters and profiles to discover potential business connections and message members they'd like to connect with instead of hoping the right person happens to see a post somewhere else online.

Load Manager is DX's built-in TMS and workspace for organizing dispatched loads. Members can manage important load details, associated paperwork, and load progress from pickup through delivery in one place.

The Timeline is the social side of Dispatch Xchange. Members can talk trucking, ask questions, share industry information, discuss business, promote relevant events or educational resources, and connect with other trucking professionals. Basically, the group chat finally got its own address.

Xchange Lounges are virtual spaces for live community conversations. Members can join or host discussions about industry topics, education, business, networking, Q&As—or just talk trucking with people who understand trucking.

Ratings and reviews allow members to share feedback about their experiences with other users. They're designed to encourage transparency and accountability while helping members make more informed decisions about potential dispatch connections.

DX provides the technology and tools that allow members to discover, connect, communicate, and collaborate. DX is the platform—not a party to the transaction or business relationship between members. Members are responsible for evaluating opportunities, choosing who they work with, agreeing to their terms, completing appropriate documentation, and fulfilling their respective obligations.

No. Dispatch Xchange is a technology and professional networking platform. DX does not broker freight, arrange transportation, guarantee load availability, or act as the carrier, broker, shipper, or dispatcher in transactions between members. Potential load referrals appearing on the Xchange Board are posted by members—not provided by Dispatch Xchange.

No. DX provides complimentary agreement templates as a convenience to our community, particularly because co-dispatching may be a new concept for many members. Members may use their own agreements and are responsible for determining whether any agreement is appropriate for their business. Independent legal review is recommended.

DX provides complimentary templates designed to support common relationships within the community, including a Traditional Dispatch Agreement, Co-Dispatch Agreement, and Dispatch Addendum for specific loads, lanes, rates, or requirements.

Member profiles, Directory information, ratings, and reviews can provide useful information about other DX members and their experiences within the community. These tools are designed to improve transparency, but they don't replace due diligence. Members should independently evaluate potential business partners and opportunities before deciding to work together.
